Kiera Layne, DAcCHM, L.Ac.
I hope you’ll receive all you need to know about me as I treat you. This is a little something until then.
I’m not a needle person. I had never had acupuncture before applying for and starting my doctorate in this medicine. The first acupuncture needle that graced my body was during our clinical techniques class, a few terms into my degree.
I’m from Long Island and went to college in NYC for Entrepreneurship-Management with a minor in Biology. I should’ve known then that I was massively confused. I did the corporate thing and decided that my life force was slowly being sucked out of me. If I can’t be myself, I have nothing to offer anyone. I googled alternative healing jobs, or something like that, and saw Traditional Chinese Medicine. I’m not quite sure why I felt the need to go for it, but I haven’t looked back since.
I don’t know why we let this happen, but the “wellness world” can be uncompromising, trend-based, and boasting. I crave something different out of my interactions and livelihood. I know I can’t be that special in thinking this way, so The Idiosyncratic Needle is a little bridge to connect us in that.
I find school to be the easy part. If I could get paid to go, I would always be pursuing a degree. Practicing with you all is where the real growth and yumminess lie. I hope to bring my specific magic to this practice, as we all have our own unique tonic to offer the world. TCM is the medium through which I offer mine.
I’m happy to answer any Q’s that you have before we start!
You deserve change and healing.
