When you are starting to feel sick and have chills and/or a fever. Wait until these symptoms have passed.

Early stages of coughs (from sickness) or rashes.

If you are pregnant. This herb can cause uterine contractions.

If you have a stomach ulcer or are prone to heartburn.

Temperature: warm

Taste: sour, sweet, (acrid), (bitter), (salty)

Channels entered: Kidney, Heart, Lung

Dosage: 1.5-3g for chronic cough; 6-9g as a tonic

Tips:

Good quality Schisandra is large, oily, shiny, and has a purple hue.

Cook lower than 60 degrees F
